Our History

Uniform Reuse was formed in 2008 to complement work being carried out through the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP). Its aims were to improve the reuse and recycling options for corporate wear through practical research, and to develop an educational resource.

It started by looking at:

  • garment design and construction
  • fibre composition of fabrics
  • garment labelling systems
  • end-of-life treatments
  • taxation policy.

Today, Uniform Reuse is managed by research and consultancy firm Oakdene Hollins.  Together, we work with corporate clients to implement circular economy strategies and help them find a better treatment for their end-of-life corporate wear.
